I know what it is like to be outside, cold, and with nowhere to go. Alleviating this pain (and often, shame) should be a major concern for our communities. I spent a portion of my childhood homeless. Lucky enough to be attending school at this time, I had access to food and education. A scholarship to college gave me the opportunity to rise up out of my situation.
