An innovative concept to relocate unsheltered homeless individuals to a secure forested park located in central Cobb county and provide necessary services within easy walking distance.
What We Would Provide

Job Search/Attainment
Job Search/Attainment – Client instruction in whatever job search skills required for successful resumes/applications, communications, business dress, interviews, acquisition/retention.

Case Management/Counseling
Case Management/Counseling – As directed by a social work professional, each client constructs and follow an individualized plan for success toward self-sufficiency.

Medical/Counseling Services
Medical/Counseling Services – Available medical/nursing and counseling providers nearby; A.A. and N.A. organized on demand.

Education
Basic Math, Language, GED – Eliminating high school graduation deficiencies, especially math, language, core courses pursuant to GED (minimum).

Life Skills
Life Skills – Overview of successful time management, organization, social and civic responsibility. This includes basic computer skills necessary in a computer world, including keyboard, word-processing, email, internet/search engines.

Addressing Record Barriers
Locating/producing arrest records, communicating with law enforcement jurisdictions, district attorney offices, applying for/obtaining record restriction or expungement and/or pardon.
Proposed Park
An innovative concept to relocate unsheltered homeless individuals to a secure forested park located in central Cobb county and provide necessary services within easy walking distance.
The park (proposed site) would be a short walk to Cobb County Services Board, Cobb-Douglas Public Health (and WIC), GA DMV – Licensing (I.D.), CobbLinc, Stratton Public Library (weekly job fair/search resources), Cobb Dept. of Veterans Services.
Our mission
Cobb Hope Park is a non-profit charity organization that strives to provide immediate free temporary shelter and access to needed services to Cobb’s unsheltered homeless, in return for their contracted commitment to park sanitation, chores, life skills attainment, and case-managed job preparation/search/acquisition pursuant to self-sufficiency within 30-60-90 days.
The organization (Cobb Hope Park) further seeks coordination with other county shelters, especially those offering mental illness and substance abuse counseling assistance, jail diversion, and other supportive programs.
